Art journal note:
This page has a really simple watercolour background. And the verse is written on using a plain black pen.
Today’s journal page is a very simple one, with a simple message. It is God who refreshes our souls.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
Psalm 23 v 1-3
Today I have been feeling rather in need of some refreshing. It’s good to know that He leads me to places of rest. He provides me with all I need. I just need to respond to Him, to follow His lead.
Sometimes in the busyness of life it can be hard to ‘fit in’ rest. Not just physical rest, but soul rest. It’s a priority that gets squeezed out as we respond to the million things that clamour for our constant attention. It can be hard to unplug, yet we need to unplug the world to plug into God (says she on the computer again!). The best way to refresh our souls is to spend time with God, soaking in His Word, praying and praising Him.
His quiet waters that He leads us beside, can refresh and restore us. Jesus said:
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. Matthew 11:29 (Amplified Bible)
